Terms & conditions
Last updated: 2 July 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all quotes, repairs, maintenance, services, and sales of refurbished bikes by Max Eco Bike, Schaepmanstraat 67, 6702 AR Wageningen (KvK 98789082, VAT NL868643786B01). By booking a repair or buying a bike from us, you agree to these terms. Questions? Email info@maxecobike.com or message us on WhatsApp.
1. Who we are
Max Eco Bike is a bike workshop in Wageningen offering bike repair, maintenance, and refurbished bikes. These terms apply to every agreement between Max Eco Bike and you as a customer, unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing.
2. Quotes and prices
Prices shown on this website are indicative starting prices in euros, including VAT, unless stated otherwise. The final price of a repair depends on the actual condition of your bike and the parts needed.
Before we carry out work that costs significantly more than the indicated or agreed price, we contact you first for approval. A quote is free of obligation until you accept it.
3. Repairs and maintenance
You can book a repair via the website (the form opens a WhatsApp conversation), by phone, or by dropping by the workshop. A booking is confirmed once we have agreed on a date and time via WhatsApp, phone, or in person.
If, during a repair, we find additional defects that affect safety or the agreed work, we let you know before performing extra work, together with an updated price.
We use new or good-quality used parts appropriate for the repair. Replaced parts are disposed of unless you ask to keep them when dropping off the bike.
4. Refurbished bikes
Refurbished bikes are used bikes that we have inspected, serviced, and repaired where necessary. The condition and any known cosmetic flaws are described or shown before purchase.
As a consumer, you are entitled to the legal conformity guarantee under Dutch law: the bike must do what you may reasonably expect from it. This legal guarantee always applies, in addition to any specific warranty we agree on for a particular bike.
5. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the repair or on delivery of the bike, unless we agree otherwise. We accept the payment methods communicated in the workshop.
The bike remains the property of Max Eco Bike until it has been paid for in full.
6. Warranty on repairs
We stand behind our work. If a repair we performed fails within a reasonable period through no fault of yours, contact us and we will assess and fix it free of charge where the failure is attributable to our work or the parts we installed.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by accidents, misuse, poor maintenance, or work done on the bike by others after our repair.
7. Cancelling an appointment
You can cancel or move a repair appointment free of charge via WhatsApp or phone. Please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the slot to someone else.
If work has already started when you cancel, we may charge for the work performed and parts already installed or ordered specifically for your bike.
8. Uncollected bikes
Please collect your bike within a reasonable time after we let you know the repair is finished. If a bike is not collected within 3 months of that notice, despite reminders, we may charge reasonable storage costs and, after a final written warning, sell the bike to recover our costs in accordance with Dutch law.
9. Liability
We take good care of your bike while it is with us. We are liable for damage that is the direct result of a shortcoming attributable to us, up to the amount our insurance pays out in the relevant case, or otherwise up to the invoice amount of the relevant job.
We are not liable for the loss of items or accessories left on or with the bike, unless they were reported and stored by us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence.
10. Complaints
Not happy with something? Contact us at info@maxecobike.com or via WhatsApp and describe the problem. We respond within a reasonable time and try to solve it together first.
If we cannot work it out, disputes are governed by Dutch law and may be submitted to the competent Dutch court.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to new agreements from the moment of publication.
