Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Max Eco Bike collects through maxecobike.com, why, and what rights you have. Max Eco Bike, Schaepmanstraat 67, 6702 AR Wageningen (KvK 98789082, VAT NL868643786B01), is the controller responsible for this data. For any privacy question, email info@maxecobike.com.

What personal data we collect

We only collect the personal data you choose to give us, or that is generated automatically while you use the website:

Contact details you enter in a form: your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message or repair/booking request.

Technical data collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring page — used for security, performance, and, with your consent, analytics.

Public social content: if you interact with our public Instagram profile or Google Business Profile, that platform processes your data under its own privacy policy.

Contact, quote and booking requests

Our contact, enquiry, and booking forms are a WhatsApp intake: when you submit a form, it opens WhatsApp (web or app) with your message pre-filled, addressed to our business number. We do not store the contents of these forms on our own servers or in a database — your message goes directly from your device to our WhatsApp Business account, where we handle it like any other WhatsApp conversation. WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp Ireland Limited / Meta Platforms and processes that message under Meta/WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

We use the information you send us only to answer your question, prepare a quote, or schedule your repair or service, and we keep the conversation for as long as reasonably needed to help you (for example, for warranty follow-up).

Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering one (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and analytics

We only load Google Analytics (GA4) after you actively accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner; before that, analytics storage stays set to "denied" and no analytics cookies are placed. IP addresses are anonymised. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your cookies or changing your choice via the cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of cookies and how to manage them.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Google Maps, Google reviews and Instagram

Some pages embed a Google Maps location, show public Google reviews of our business (via the Google Places API), or display our own public Instagram posts (via the Instagram Graph API). Loading these elements may cause Google or Meta to process technical data, such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies. We only display genuine, publicly available reviews and posts, and always link back to the original source.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showcasing our location, reputation, and work (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure processes standard server logs (such as IP address, timestamp, and requested page) to serve the site, keep it secure, and detect abuse.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with the service providers who help us run this website and our business — for example Meta/WhatsApp for messaging, Google for maps, reviews and analytics, and Vercel for hosting — and only to the extent necessary for the purposes described above, or where required by law (for example, tax administration).

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, they rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data.

How long we keep your data

Enquiries and bookings: kept in our WhatsApp Business account and, where relevant, our repair records, for as long as needed to help you and honour any warranty, then deleted.

Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for the period configured in our account, in line with Google's data retention settings.

Administrative records we must legally keep, such as invoices, are retained for the statutory Dutch retention period (currently 7 years).

Your rights

Under the GDPR (in Dutch: AVG) you have the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, ask us to erase your data, ask us to restrict or object to our processing, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@maxecobike.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, including relying on WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption for messages and using reputable, security-conscious providers (Google, Meta, Vercel) for the services described above.

Children

This website and our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when we start using a new tool or service. The version published on this page is always the current one.

This website displays Max Eco Bike's own public Instagram posts and public Google reviews, links back to the originals, and honours removal requests.
